Kashmir White Granite: Colours, Uses and Why It Is So Popular

Kashmir White is one of the most recognisable light granites in Pakistani homes. It offers the brightness of a white stone with the toughness of granite, which makes it a favourite for families who want a light kitchen without the maintenance worries of marble. FB Marble stocks Kashmir White alongside other white granites such as Snow White and Deer White.

What Is Kashmir White Granite?

Kashmir White is a natural granite with a white to off-white background sprinkled with grey mineral specks and small burgundy or garnet-coloured dots. From a distance it reads as a soft, light stone; up close you see its lively natural texture.

What Is Granite?

Granite is an igneous rock formed when molten magma cools slowly deep underground. During that slow cooling, crystals of quartz, feldspar and other minerals grow and lock together. This interlocking structure is what makes granite hard, heat-resistant and long-lasting.

Is Granite Good for Home Design?

Yes. Granite is one of the most durable natural surfaces available for kitchens, stairs, floors and even outdoor areas. A light granite like Kashmir White adds brightness while keeping that durability.

The Colours in Kashmir White

  • White and off-white base that brightens the room
  • Light to medium grey specks that add depth
  • Burgundy / garnet dots that give warmth and character
  • Occasional beige or cream tones depending on the batch

Because natural stone varies from block to block, we always recommend viewing the actual slab before cutting. Buy your full quantity from one batch so the shade matches across joints.

Where Can Kashmir White Be Used?

  • Kitchen counters and islands
  • Bathroom vanities
  • Window sills and door thresholds
  • Indoor flooring and staircases
  • Wall cladding and feature panels

How It Pairs with Cabinets

Kashmir White looks crisp with white cabinets for an all-light kitchen, elegant with navy or charcoal for contrast, and warm with walnut or sheesham. The burgundy specks pick up nicely on red-brown wood.

Care Tips

Light granites are more porous than dark ones, so Kashmir White should be sealed after installation and roughly once a year in kitchens. Clean with mild soap and water, and wipe haldi, oil and chai promptly. Avoid vinegar, lemon and bleach, which wear away the sealer.

Price in Pakistan

In FB Marble's current list, white granites range roughly from Rs 650 to Rs 1,800 per square foot, and Kashmir White sits among the popular, mid-range options. The exact rate depends on slab size, thickness and the batch in stock, so we confirm it on the day you order.

Frequently asked questions

Kashmir White or Snow White?

Kashmir White has visible burgundy specks and a softer look; Snow White appears cleaner and whiter. Our blog has a detailed comparison of the two.

Does Kashmir White turn yellow?

Unsealed light granite can absorb stains that look yellow. Regular sealing prevents this.

Is it suitable for floors?

Yes, indoors. For outdoor use choose a flamed or leather finish on a darker granite.
