How to Clean and Remove Tough Stains from Premium Quartz

Premium imported quartz carries a high-quality polished finish, tight colour control and a dense, non-porous surface. It stays beautiful with very simple care, but even the best quartz meets tough stains from time to time — dried food, sticker glue, marker or hard-water film. Here is how to handle them safely.

Daily Cleaning

Use warm water, a few drops of mild dish soap and a soft microfibre cloth. Wipe in circular motions, rinse with a clean damp cloth and dry. This removes everyday crumbs, oil splashes and chai drips.

Choosing the Right Soap

Use a pH-neutral dish soap without bleach, strong degreasers or added moisturisers. Soaps with lotions or oils can leave a film that dulls the surface over time.

Cleaning Tough Stains

  1. Apply a non-abrasive cleaner to the stain and leave it for a few minutes to soften.
  2. Scrub gently with a soft nylon brush or non-scratch sponge.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  4. Dry and buff with a microfibre cloth.

Product Types That Work

Diluted vinegar (1:1 with water). Briefly, for mineral build-up and hard-water film. Rinse straight away.

Stone-and-steel or quartz-safe sprays. Good for weekly cleaning and light grease. Check the label says it is suitable for engineered stone.

Adhesive removers. For sticker residue, tape and chewing gum. Apply, wipe off within a minute and rinse well.

Isopropyl alcohol. For ink, marker and disinfecting. It evaporates quickly and leaves no residue.

Baking soda paste. For haldi and coloured food stains. Leave for ten minutes, then wipe.

Removing Specific Stains

  • Dried dough or rice: soften with warm water, then lift with a plastic scraper.
  • Grease near the stove: degreasing dish soap and hot water.
  • Wax from candles: freeze with an ice cube, then lift with a plastic scraper.
  • Nail polish: a little acetone on a cotton pad, quickly, then rinse.

What to Avoid

Abrasive powders, steel wool, oven cleaners, paint strippers, undiluted bleach and leaving acetone on the surface. These can permanently damage the resin.

Good Habits

Use trivets for heat, boards for cutting and coasters for drinks. Wipe spills before they dry. These habits prevent most tough stains from forming in the first place.
