What Makes a Granite "Exotic"?
Exotic granites are rarer than standard colours, often quarried in limited quantities, and display striking patterns, vivid colours or shimmering crystals. They are usually imported and sit at the premium end of the price range.
1. Blue Pearl
Imported from Norway, Blue Pearl has blue-grey and silver crystals that shimmer as the light changes. It is one of the most recognisable exotic granites in the world.
2. Volga Blue
A darker base with large crystals that flash deep blue. Dramatic and rare.
3. Antique Labradorite
A dark stone with flashes of blue and green labradorescence, like a gemstone under light.
4. Magma Black
One of FB Marble's most premium granites — a dramatic black stone with striking natural character.
5. Brown Wave
Bold, flowing waves of brown, beige and cream that look like a landscape frozen in stone.
6. Brown Fantasy
Swirling brown, grey and white patterns full of movement.
7. Cosmo Wave
Sweeping grey and white movement for contemporary kitchens.
8. Emerald Pearl
Dark green with pearly reflections that change with the light.
9. Titanium Black
A black base crossed by white and gold veins — luxurious and bold.
10. Red Ruby
Rich red tones that make a confident statement, especially on bar tops and feature walls.
Where to Use Exotic Granite
- Kitchen islands
- Bar tops and coffee counters
- Reception desks
- Feature walls and fireplace surrounds
- Powder room vanities
Tips for Using Exotic Granite
- Keep surroundings simple: plain cabinets and backsplash let the stone shine.
- Plan the slab layout: decide which part of the slab goes where, especially with wavy stones.
- View the actual slab: exotic stones vary greatly between blocks.
- Use good lighting: shimmering stones come alive under well-placed lights.
- Consider the island only: a standard granite on perimeter counters keeps the budget balanced.
Price
In FB Marble's current list, exotic granites generally sit in the upper part of our Rs 250–5,000 per square foot range, with blues and rare blacks at the top.
