Quartz
What Is Quartz?
Engineered stone made of about 90–93% crushed natural quartz bonded with resin and pigments.
Hardness
Very hard, close to natural quartz; resists scratches from utensils.
Stain Resistance
Excellent. Quartz is non-porous, so oil, haldi and chai cannot soak in.
Heat Resistance
Moderate. The resin can scorch or crack under direct high heat.
Chip Resistance
Good; the resin adds a little flexibility.
Care
No sealing. Mild soap and water.
Granite
What Is Granite?

Natural igneous stone formed from slowly cooled magma.
Hardness
About 6–7 on the Mohs scale; very scratch-resistant.
Stain Resistance
Good to excellent depending on colour and sealing. Dark granites are very resistant; light granites need sealing.
Heat Resistance
Excellent. Granite tolerates hot pots far better than quartz.
Chip Resistance
Good, though sharp edges can chip.
Care
Seal light colours yearly; dark granites rarely.
UV and Outdoor Use
Excellent — suitable for outdoor kitchens and porches.
