Marble in the Bathroom
Marble is cool, elegant and timeless — a classic choice for Pakistani bathrooms, from compact apartments to luxurious master suites. Local whites like Ziarat White and Sunny White, and imported stones like Cream Marfil, are popular choices for vanities and walls.

Marble at a Glance
- Hardness: about 3 on the Mohs scale — softer than granite and quartz.
- Porosity: moderate — absorbs liquids if unsealed.
- Acid sensitivity: high — etches with acids.
- Heat tolerance: good, but hair tools can scorch it.

Common Bathroom Messes
- Toothpaste and mouthwash (acids, dyes)
- Perfume, aftershave and nail-polish remover (solvents, alcohol)
- Hair dye and mehndi (strong pigments)
- Soap scum and shampoo residue
- Hard-water spots around the tap
- Lotions, oils and makeup
Daily Care Routine
Clean Daily
Wipe the vanity with a damp microfibre cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Rinse and dry, paying attention to the area around the tap.
Blot Spills Immediately
Blot — don't wipe — perfume, mouthwash, nail-polish remover and makeup spills straight away to prevent stains and etching.
Use Trays
Keep bottles and dispensers on a tray so drips never touch the stone.
Dry Around the Tap
A small towel near the basin makes it easy to wipe away water before minerals dry.
Ventilate
Run the exhaust fan or open a window after showers to reduce humidity and prevent mould in corners.
Periodic Care
Sealing
Seal the vanity every 6–12 months. Do the water-drop test to check.
Polishing
If areas become dull, use marble polishing powder for small spots, or ask a professional to re-polish the whole vanity.
What to Avoid
Toilet cleaners, bathroom acids, bleach, vinegar and abrasive powders should never touch marble.
