Cost of Quartzite Countertops: What Impacts Prices?

Quartzite is a premium natural stone prized for its marble-like beauty and exceptional hardness. Because it is rarer and harder to fabricate than granite, it usually costs more. Here is what affects quartzite pricing.

Cost of Quartzite Countertops

Quartzite generally sits in the premium range, often comparable to or above high-end granite and premium quartz. Prices vary widely by variety, quality and origin. In Pakistan, most decorative quartzites are imported. Contact FB Marble for current availability and rates.

What Factors Impact the Price?

How Much Material You Require

Quartzite is priced per square foot. Larger kitchens and islands increase total cost, and vein matching can increase wastage.

Where You Live

Transport costs vary by city and floor level. Projects outside Lahore may include travel and delivery charges.

How Rare the Quartzite Is

Common white and grey quartzites are more affordable; rare colours and dramatic patterns command premium prices.

Complexity of the Job

Quartzite is very hard, so cutting, edging and polishing take longer and wear tools faster. Mitered edges, waterfall ends and many cut-outs add significant labour.

Thickness and Slab Size

Thicker and larger slabs cost more.

Finish

Polished, honed and leathered finishes may vary in price.

Quartzite vs Quartz: Don't Get Confused

  • Quartzite is a natural stone quarried from the earth. It needs sealing but handles heat and UV well.
  • Quartz is an engineered product of crushed quartz and resin. It never needs sealing but is heat-sensitive.

Both are hard and durable, but they are very different materials — and priced differently.

Is Quartzite Worth It?

If you want a natural stone with a marble look and excellent durability, quartzite is a worthwhile investment. If you want a similar look at lower cost, consider marble-look quartz or white veined granites such as White Juparana.
