The Base Rate per Square Foot
In FB Marble's current list, Pakistani granite starts at about Rs 250 per square foot, imported granite from about Rs 700, and rare exotic stones go up to around Rs 5,000. By colour, blacks range widely from about Rs 400 to Rs 5,000, whites roughly Rs 650–1,800, browns Rs 250–3,200 and blues Rs 1,900–4,000. Exact rates depend on the batch in stock and are confirmed on the day.
Specifications That Change the Rate
Thickness. 18 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm slabs are priced differently.
Finish. Polished is standard. Leather, honed and flamed finishes may cost more for some stones.
Slab size. Jumbo slabs reduce joints but can cost more per square foot.
Grade and batch. Slabs with fewer natural flaws are priced higher.
Choosing the Right Granite
Match colour, origin and finish to the use. For a busy kitchen, a dark speckled granite in 20 mm with a polished or leather finish is the safest choice. For large floors and stairs, local granite gives the best value.
Supplemental Charges to Expect
- Edge profiles: standard edges are usually included; premium edges such as ogee and mitered are charged per running foot.
- Cut-outs: sink, hob and tap holes. Undermount sink cut-outs need full polishing.
- Backsplash: a 4-inch strip or full-height panel.
- Templating and site visits.
- Transport and loading: especially for upper floors without lifts or projects outside Lahore.
- Removal of old counters and disposal.
- Sealing after installation.
- Plumbing reconnection: sometimes handled by your own plumber.
- Wastage allowance: patterned stones that need vein matching generate more offcuts.
How to Compare Quotes Fairly
Ask each supplier for a line-item quotation. Check that the stone name, thickness, finish and grade are the same in each quote. Confirm what is included — installation, sealing, transport — and what is extra. A slightly higher rate that includes everything is often better value than a low rate with many add-ons.
