Price Bands You Will See
- Pakistani granite: starts at about Rs 250 per sq ft. Stones like Tropical Brown, Impala Black, Indus Gold and Deer White are quarried locally, so there is no import duty or sea freight.
- Imported granite: starts at about Rs 700 per sq ft. Galaxy Black and Tan Brown from India, Blue Pearl from Norway and Brazilian stones such as Brown Fantasy offer colours that local quarries do not produce.
- Exotic and rare granite: stones such as Magma Black or Volga Blue sit at the top of the range because of rarity and demand.

Factors That Change the Price
Colour. Blacks range widely (Rs 400–5,000), whites roughly Rs 650–1,800 and blues Rs 1,900–4,000 in our current list. Rare colours and strong movement cost more.

Thickness. 18 mm is common for kitchen tops sitting fully on cabinets; 20 mm suits islands and overhangs; 30 mm is used for stairs and thresholds. Thicker means more stone and more weight.
Finish. Polished is standard. Leather and honed finishes require extra processing.
Edges and cut-outs. Simple eased edges are economical; ogee, double bullnose and mitered edges add labour. Each sink or hob cut-out is charged separately.
Layout. L-shaped and U-shaped kitchens need joints and more cutting. Matching veins on patterned granite also increases wastage.
Installation. Transport, loading to upper floors, removal of old tops and cabinet repairs can all affect the final bill.
How to Keep Costs Down
- Pick local stone for large areas. For floors, stairs and car porches, Pakistani granite gives the best value per square foot.
- Use remnants for small jobs. Vanity tops, window sills and side tables can often be cut from leftover pieces.
- Stay with popular colours. Stones that are always in stock are priced competitively.
- Choose a simple edge. An eased or half-bullnose edge is safe for children and economical.
- Measure accurately. Over-ordering wastes money; under-ordering may mean a second batch with a different shade.

Alternatives If Granite Is Over Budget
Porcelain slabs offer a stone look at a lower weight and cost for walls and floors. Quartz suits buyers who want zero sealing. Pakistani marble works beautifully for floors but is softer for kitchen tops.
Why DIY Is Not Recommended
A granite slab for a kitchen can weigh several hundred kilograms. Cutting it requires diamond tools, water cooling and experience; one wrong cut can crack an expensive slab. Installation also needs level cabinets and proper adhesives. Professional fabrication protects your investment and usually comes with workmanship support.
