What Is Marble?
Marble is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone is transformed by heat and pressure. Its crystalline structure allows a beautiful polish, and its veining makes each slab unique.
What Is Veining?
Veins are lines of minerals that were deposited in cracks and layers during the stone's formation. Iron oxides, clays and other minerals create brown, gold and rust tones. The pattern can be fine and feathery or bold and dramatic.
Styling Marble with Brown Veining
- Pair with wood: walnut, sheesham and teak furniture echo the brown veins.
- Add brass and gold: warm metallic fixtures enhance the warmth.
- Choose warm walls: cream, beige and soft taupe paint.
- Balance busy veining: if the marble is strongly veined, keep floors or walls nearby plain.
- Use warm lighting: warm white bulbs bring out the richness of the stone.
