How Much Do Granite Countertops Cost?
In FB Marble's current list, granite ranges from about Rs 250 to Rs 5,000 per square foot. Pakistani granite starts at about Rs 250, and imported granite at about Rs 700. The final cost also includes fabrication and installation.
How Do Colours Affect Cost?
Colour is one of the biggest price factors because it reflects rarity:

- Common colours — blacks, browns, greys — are quarried in large volumes and are economical.
- Whites are popular and moderately priced.
- Blues, rare blacks and exotic multicolours are scarce and command the highest prices.
In our current list, blues range roughly from Rs 1,900 to Rs 4,000 per square foot, while some rare blacks reach the top of the range.
What Is the Most Expensive Granite?
Globally, the most expensive granites tend to be rare blue stones and exotic multicolour stones with semi-precious-looking crystals. At FB Marble, the top of the range includes:
- Magma Black — rare, dramatic and among our most premium.
- Volga Blue — deep blue with iridescence.
- Blue Pearl — Norwegian blue-grey shimmer.
- Antique Labradorite — dark with blue flashes.
Why Are Some Granites So Expensive?
- Limited quarries: some stones come from a single small deposit.
- Difficult extraction: remote or mountainous locations raise costs.
- Low yield: only part of each block meets quality standards.
- High demand: luxury projects worldwide compete for the same slabs.
- Import costs: freight, duty and handling add to the price in Pakistan.
Is Expensive Granite Better?
Not necessarily in performance. A rare blue granite is not stronger than an economical local black. You pay for rarity and beauty, not durability.
Where Does Granite Come From?
FB Marble sources granite from Pakistan, India, Brazil, Norway, Finland and Ukraine.
Can You Install Granite Yourself?
It is not recommended. Granite slabs are very heavy, require diamond tools and water cooling to cut, and must be installed on level, supported cabinets. Professional fabrication protects your investment — especially with expensive stone.
