Alpine Quartz
Description
Alpine Quartz is an engineered quartz surface with a near-solid ivory with very faint cloud pattern.
Plain light quartz shows coloured spills less than white marble and needs no sealing β practical for bathroom tops.
Alpine Quartz is stocked as 1800mm x 2700mm slabs, 18mm thick, with a polished finish.
Origin & Technical Profile
Origin: Manufactured in China and imported by FB Marble.
What the slab looks like: A near-solid ivory with very faint cloud pattern.
| Material | Engineered stone: crushed quartz bound with polymer resin and pigment |
|---|---|
| Country of origin | China |
| Finish | Polished / Re-Polishable |
| Thickness | 18mm |
| Slab size | 1800mm x 2700mm |
| Composition | Roughly 90β93% quartz aggregate, the rest resin and pigment |
| Density | About 2.3 β 2.4 g/cmΒ³ |
| Water absorption | Near zero (typically β€ 0.05%) β no sealing needed |
| Hardness | About 7 Mohs (quartz aggregate) |
| Heat | Resin can scorch above ~150 Β°C β always use a trivet |
| Outdoor use | Not recommended β strong UV can yellow the resin |
| Fabrication | Cut wet only: dry-cutting quartz releases crystalline silica dust |
Practical note: Daily cleaning with mild soap is enough; avoid oven cleaner, paint stripper and other strong solvents that attack the resin.
Technical figures are typical values for this type of material; colour can shift slightly between production batches, so match slabs from the same batch.
Choosing Alpine Quartz
The look: Alpine Quartz has a near-solid ivory with very faint cloud pattern. Plain light quartz shows coloured spills less than white marble and needs no sealing β practical for bathroom tops.
Living with the pattern: Alpine Quartz is close to a plain colour, so joints are easy to hide and it looks the same from slab to slab. A plain top does show crumbs and water rings more than a patterned one, so wipe it down after use.
Where it works best: Kitchen counters, bathroom vanities, office desks and shop counters where an easy, clean look is wanted.
What goes with Alpine Quartz:
- Any cabinet colour: wood, white, grey, green or navy all work
- Coloured or patterned tiles on the backsplash, since the top stays calm
- Chrome or brushed steel taps for a clean, modern finish
- Small kitchens and bathrooms, where a light top makes the room feel bigger
Similar quartz colours
- Milk White G.W Quartz: soft pale milk-white solid quartz.
- Pearl White Quartz: pale creamy pearl-white solid quartz.
- Snow White: soft white quartz with faint grey cloud veining (veining instead of an almost plain surface).
- California Gold Quartz: pale mint-white quartz with dark terrazzo specks (terrazzo chips instead of an almost plain surface).
Compare with white granite: White granite costs less and takes heat better, but its grains and spots are busier than this smooth quartz. See white granite colours and rates.
