General questions

Do you provide free samples? How many samples can I take?

At FB Marble, samples are free and we encourage our clients to take up to ten samples per visit to our showroom in Lahore. You can also request samples via WhatsApp and we will arrange delivery.

What materials can I find at FB Marble?

FB Marble carries slabs and tiles of granite, marble, quartzite, onyx, travertine, limestone, porcelain, and soapstone. We have Pakistan's largest natural stone selection with 500+ colours available.

Why should I see a slab in person?

Since every slab of natural stone is completely unique, we recommend visiting our Lahore showroom to see slab patterns and colour variations in person. What you see online is representative — the actual slab may vary slightly in pattern.

Where does your material come from?

At FB Marble we source our stone from the most reputable quarries globally, including those from India, Brazil, Norway, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Ukraine, and locally from Pakistan.

Why is some stone more expensive than others?

Stone slabs that are extremely rare and boast unique colours tend to be more expensive than commonly found stones. Imported stones also carry additional logistics costs compared to locally quarried Pakistani granite.

Granite

How often should I seal granite countertops?

We recommend sealing granite countertops at least once each year. Lighter granite colours may require more frequent sealing, as often as every 6 months, as they tend to be more porous than darker granites.

Can I install granite outdoors?

Granite is one of the best natural stones for outdoor use — it can be used for outdoor kitchens, BBQ areas, bars and other applications. We recommend covering outdoor granite countertops during extreme weather conditions.

Can I cut directly on a granite countertop?

You can cut and chop directly on your granite countertops, however it is not recommended as it may result in damage to your knives. Granite is extremely hard and will dull knife blades very quickly.

Is granite heat resistant?

Granite is a highly heat resistant material and can withstand extremely hot temperatures. However, it is not advised to place very hot pots and pans directly onto the stone as it might remove the sealer and could potentially cause thermal shock in some cases.

How do I clean my granite countertops?

A solution of warm water and mild dish soap is recommended for daily cleaning of granite countertops. We advise against using any acidic or abrasive chemicals as they may remove the surface layer of the sealer and in extreme cases may damage the polish of the stone.

Can a chip on my countertop be repaired?

Most chips smaller than a coin in diameter can be repaired using a stone chip repair kit. We recommend professional repair service for larger chips. Contact FB Marble for a referral to our trusted stone repair specialists.

Is marble good for kitchen countertops?

Marble is calcite, so lemon, vinegar, imli, achar and tomato leave dull etch marks on a polished surface, and haldi can stain light marble. It is best for floors, walls, stairs and vanities; for the main cooking counter, granite or quartz is more practical.

Why does white marble turn yellow?

Yellowing comes from iron minerals in the stone oxidising, from dirty mop water and wax building up, or from the wrong sealer. Use a non-yellowing penetrating sealer and pH-neutral cleaner; a professional grind-and-polish restores the original colour.

Pakistani or imported marble — which should I choose?

Pakistani marbles such as Ziarat White, Badal and Sunny Grey are quicker to supply in large quantities and usually cost less, which suits whole-house flooring. Imported marbles (Botticino, Crema Marfil, Grey Emperador) offer colours that are not quarried locally.

How often should a marble floor be polished?

Busy floors usually need a diamond grind-and-polish every few years; regular cleaning with a pH-neutral cleaner and doormats at entrances keeps grit from dulling the surface in between.

Quartz

Browse all quartz colours — every stone page has its own questions.

Is quartz heat resistant?

Quartz handles warm dishes, but its resin binder can scorch or discolour above roughly 150 °C. Always put hot pots, patilas and tawas on a trivet.

Do I have to seal quartz?

No. Engineered quartz absorbs almost no water, so it never needs sealing. Clean it with mild soap; avoid bleach, oven cleaner and paint stripper.

Can quartz be used outdoors?

No. Strong UV light can slowly yellow the resin. For terraces and outdoor kitchens use granite or porcelain.

Quartz or granite for a Pakistani kitchen?

Quartz needs no sealing and resists stains, but needs trivets for hot pans. Granite takes direct heat better and suits heavy cooking, but needs periodic sealing, especially in light colours.

Porcelain

Browse all porcelain colours — every stone page has its own questions.

What sizes are porcelain tiles available in?

Our porcelain tiles range from 1200×2400mm up to large-format 1600×3200mm slabs, in thicknesses from 9mm to 12mm. Contact us for availability of specific sizes for your project.

Is porcelain better than natural marble or granite?

Porcelain is non-porous and never needs sealing, unlike marble or granite. It also offers highly consistent colour and pattern since designs are digitally printed. Natural stone has more unique variation and a different tactile feel — both are excellent choices depending on your priorities.

Are porcelain tiles slip resistant?

Yes — we stock both polished and matt/textured finishes. Matt and flamed finishes offer better slip resistance and are recommended for bathroom floors, outdoor areas and high-traffic commercial spaces.

Can large-format porcelain slabs be used on walls?

Yes, large-format porcelain slabs are increasingly popular for feature walls and book-matched installations, creating a seamless, joint-free look across large surfaces. Professional installation is recommended for large slabs.

How durable is porcelain compared to ceramic tile?

Porcelain is denser and less porous than standard ceramic tile, giving it far greater resistance to scratching, chipping, staining and water absorption — making it suitable for both residential and heavy commercial traffic.

What is the price of porcelain tiles in Pakistan?

Porcelain tile prices vary based on size, finish and design. Contact us on WhatsApp or call +92 323 4148908 for the latest prices and bulk discounts. We offer competitive rates for contractors and developers.

Travertine

Browse all travertine colours — every stone page has its own questions.

Does travertine need to be sealed?

Yes — travertine is a porous natural stone and we recommend sealing it after installation and re-sealing every 12–18 months, especially for filled and polished finishes, to protect against staining.

Can travertine be used outdoors?

Yes, especially in tumbled, brushed or unfilled finishes, which offer better slip resistance. Travertine is a popular choice for pool decks, patios and outdoor walkways.

What is the difference between filled and unfilled travertine?

Filled travertine has its natural surface pores filled with resin or cement for a smooth, easy-to-clean finish. Unfilled travertine retains its natural open pores for a more rustic, textured look.

How do I clean travertine floors?

Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner with warm water. Avoid vinegar, lemon or other acidic cleaners, as they can etch and dull the surface of travertine over time.
