Step 1: Cleaning Marble
Before polishing, the surface must be perfectly clean.

- Remove everything from the counter.
- Wipe away crumbs and dust with a dry microfibre cloth.
- Clean with warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner or a few drops of mild, colourless soap.
- Rinse with clean water.
- Dry completely.
Treat any stains with a poultice first — polishing will not remove stains.
Step 2: Polishing Marble
For Light Etching and Dullness
- Sprinkle a small amount of marble polishing powder on the dull area.
- Add a few drops of water to make a paste.
- Rub with a damp cloth or soft buffing pad in small circles.
- Continue until the shine returns — usually a few minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry.
For Overall Shine
Use a marble polishing cream or spray designed for natural stone. Apply, spread evenly and buff with a dry microfibre cloth.
For Deep Etching or Scratches
Professional honing and polishing with diamond pads and machines is needed. FB Marble provides marble restoration in Lahore.
Step 3: Keep It Sealed
After polishing, seal the marble to protect it from stains:
- Make sure the surface is completely dry.
- Apply a penetrating marble sealer evenly.
- Let it soak in for the recommended time.
- Wipe off all excess.
- Let it cure for 24–48 hours.
Seal kitchen counters and vanities every 6–12 months.
Tips to Keep Marble Shining
- Use coasters, trays and placemats

- Dry after cleaning
- Avoid vinegar, lemon, bleach and abrasive cleaners
- Use cutting boards
What Not to Use
- Car polish or furniture wax
- Vinegar-based "natural" polishes
