Our Design Approach
We favour designs with controlled veining — patterns that look natural but repeat gently so that joints across a long counter are easy to match. Wild, random patterns can look stunning on a single slab but create visible breaks in an L-shaped kitchen. Balanced veining keeps a kitchen calm and makes installation cleaner.

We also choose a spread of tones, from bright whites for compact apartments to deeper greys and blacks for open-plan kitchens that need contrast.
Material Characteristics That Matter
Non-porous surface. Quartz does not absorb liquids, so oil, haldi and pickles wipe away. It also makes the surface hygienic — there are no pores for bacteria to settle in.
Scratch and chip resistance. Quartz is harder than marble and resists daily knocks from steel utensils. Edges are still the most exposed area, so a rounded or eased edge is wise in homes with children.
Colour consistency. Engineered production means the slab you approve looks like the samples, which helps when you need several slabs for one project.
Low maintenance. Warm water and a mild soap are enough. No sealing, waxing or polishing is required.
Heat limits. The resin in quartz can discolour under direct high heat. Keep trivets beside the stove.
Using Quartz Beyond the Kitchen
Modern quartz is not only for counters. Our clients use it for:

- Bathroom vanities — no water rings or soap marks soaking in.
- Shower niches and ledges — easy to wipe and mould-resistant.
- TV and feature walls — marble-look quartz gives a luxury finish without heavy cladding.
- Window sills and study tables — durable and easy to clean.
- Office pantries and reception desks — professional look, minimal upkeep.
Quartz is best kept indoors; strong sunlight on open terraces can fade the resin over time. For outdoor kitchens and car porches we recommend granite.
The FB Marble Selection
Our quartz collection includes whites such as Ice White and Super White, marble-looks such as Calacatta Gold and Carrara White, greys such as Carlos Grey and dark designs such as Dragon Black. Each design is listed on fbmarble.com with photos so that you can shortlist at home before visiting.
Planning Tips
- Decide on cabinet colour first, then choose quartz to complement it.
- For long counters, ask us to plan joint positions before cutting.
- Choose an edge profile that suits your family — eased or half-bullnose for safety, mitered for a thick modern look.
