What Does a Fabricator Do?
A fabricator takes a slab and turns it into a finished product that fits your space perfectly. This includes:
- Measuring and templating your kitchen or bathroom
- Planning slab layout and seams
- Cutting the stone to shape
- Shaping and polishing edges
- Cutting sink, hob and tap holes
- Creating mitered edges, waterfall ends and backsplashes
- Installing, levelling, bonding seams and sealing
The Fabrication Process
1. Slab Selection
You choose your slabs at the yard.
2. Templating
The fabricator measures your space precisely.
3. Layout
The template is placed on the slab to plan seams and vein flow.
4. Cutting
Bridge saws and CNC machines cut the shapes accurately.
5. Edging
Edges are profiled and polished.
6. Cut-Outs
Sink, hob and tap holes are cut and finished.
7. Quality Check
Pieces are checked and dry-fitted.
8. Installation
Pieces are installed, levelled, bonded and sealed.
