Brown Drill Quartz
Description
Brown Drill Quartz is an engineered quartz surface with a beige base packed with brown and white granules, giving a terrazzo-like texture.
The granular pattern is very forgiving for kitchen counters β it hides crumbs, water spots and small scratches.
Brown Drill Quartz is stocked as 1800mm x 2700mm slabs, 18mm thick, with a polished finish.
Origin & Technical Profile
Origin: Manufactured in China and imported by FB Marble.
What the slab looks like: A beige base packed with brown and white granules, giving a terrazzo-like texture.
| Material | Engineered stone: crushed quartz bound with polymer resin and pigment |
|---|---|
| Country of origin | China |
| Finish | Polished / Re-Polishable |
| Thickness | 18mm |
| Slab size | 1800mm x 2700mm |
| Composition | Roughly 90β93% quartz aggregate, the rest resin and pigment |
| Density | About 2.3 β 2.4 g/cmΒ³ |
| Water absorption | Near zero (typically β€ 0.05%) β no sealing needed |
| Hardness | About 7 Mohs (quartz aggregate) |
| Heat | Resin can scorch above ~150 Β°C β always use a trivet |
| Outdoor use | Not recommended β strong UV can yellow the resin |
| Fabrication | Cut wet only: dry-cutting quartz releases crystalline silica dust |
Practical note: Daily cleaning with mild soap is enough; avoid oven cleaner, paint stripper and other strong solvents that attack the resin.
Technical figures are typical values for this type of material; colour can shift slightly between production batches, so match slabs from the same batch.
Choosing Brown Drill Quartz
The look: Brown Drill Quartz has a beige base packed with brown and white granules, giving a terrazzo-like texture. The granular pattern is very forgiving for kitchen counters β it hides crumbs, water spots and small scratches.
Living with the pattern: The chips in Brown Drill Quartz make a busy, playful surface that hides spills and crumbs well. Joints are easy to blend, so it suits long counters and shop fronts.
Where it works best: Family kitchens, dining tables, bathroom vanities and drawing-room consoles in homes with a warm colour scheme.
What goes with Brown Drill Quartz:
- Walnut, teak or oak wood cabinets and doors
- Beige, sand or off-white walls for a warm, calm room
- Brass, gold or antique-bronze fittings
- Warm white or yellow lighting, which brings out the cream tone
Similar quartz colours
- Artificial Cream Quartz: pale blush-white quartz, almost solid (an almost plain surface instead of terrazzo chips).
- Royal Beige Quartz: pale ivory quartz with soft beige swirls (veining instead of terrazzo chips).
- Sahara Beige Quartz: sandy beige quartz with fine dark speckle (fine speckle instead of terrazzo chips).
- Roxan Yellow Quartz: peach-cream quartz with brown-gold mottling (veining instead of terrazzo chips).
Compare with Pakistani marble: Beige Pakistani marbles give a similar warm tone at a lower rate, but they mark more easily in a kitchen; quartz needs no sealing. See Pakistani marble colours and rates.
