Emperador Scuro Quartz
Description
Emperador Scuro Quartz is an engineered quartz surface with a dark chocolate-brown base with copper-orange web veining in the style of Emperador marble.
Gives the Emperador marble look on vanities and counters without the need to seal.
Emperador Scuro Quartz is stocked as 1800mm x 2700mm slabs, 18mm thick, with a polished finish.
Origin & Technical Profile
Origin: Manufactured in China and imported by FB Marble.
What the slab looks like: A dark chocolate-brown base with copper-orange web veining in the style of Emperador marble.
| Material | Engineered stone: crushed quartz bound with polymer resin and pigment |
|---|---|
| Country of origin | China |
| Finish | Polished / Re-Polishable |
| Thickness | 18mm |
| Slab size | 1800mm x 2700mm |
| Composition | Roughly 90β93% quartz aggregate, the rest resin and pigment |
| Density | About 2.3 β 2.4 g/cmΒ³ |
| Water absorption | Near zero (typically β€ 0.05%) β no sealing needed |
| Hardness | About 7 Mohs (quartz aggregate) |
| Heat | Resin can scorch above ~150 Β°C β always use a trivet |
| Outdoor use | Not recommended β strong UV can yellow the resin |
| Fabrication | Cut wet only: dry-cutting quartz releases crystalline silica dust |
Practical note: Daily cleaning with mild soap is enough; avoid oven cleaner, paint stripper and other strong solvents that attack the resin.
Technical figures are typical values for this type of material; colour can shift slightly between production batches, so match slabs from the same batch.
Choosing Emperador Scuro Quartz
The look: Emperador Scuro Quartz has a dark chocolate-brown base with copper-orange web veining in the style of Emperador marble. Gives the Emperador marble look on vanities and counters without the need to seal.
Living with the pattern: Because Emperador Scuro Quartz is veined, ask to see the full slab before cutting: the veins should run the same way across joints and around corners. A bookmatched or vein-matched layout costs a little more slab but looks far better on islands and walls.
Where it works best: Kitchen counters in busy family homes, dining tables, stair treads and window sills.
What goes with Emperador Scuro Quartz:
- Cream or off-white cabinets to keep the room from getting too dark
- Light wood or beige walls
- Brass or antique-bronze fittings
- Beige or light marble floors
Similar quartz colours
- Caramel Brown Quartz: dark chocolate quartz with white and caramel streaks.
- Mocha Coffee Quartz: red-brown quartz with orange and black swirls.
- Gulf Brown Quartz: terracotta-brown solid quartz with fine dark specks (fine speckle instead of veining).
- Gulf Gold Quartz: olive-bronze quartz with fine speckle (fine speckle instead of veining).
Compare with brown granite: Brown granite is the lower-cost natural option and hides marks just as well; quartz gives a more uniform colour across slabs. See brown granite colours and rates.
