| Slab size | 1800mm x 2700mm |
| Composition | Roughly 90β93% quartz aggregate, the rest resin and pigment |
| Density | About 2.3 β 2.4 g/cmΒ³ |
| Water absorption | Near zero (typically β€ 0.05%) β no sealing needed |
| Hardness | About 7 Mohs (quartz aggregate) |
| Heat | Resin can scorch above ~150 Β°C β always use a trivet |
| Outdoor use | Not recommended β strong UV can yellow the resin |
| Fabrication | Cut wet only: dry-cutting quartz releases crystalline silica dust |
Practical note: Daily cleaning with mild soap is enough; avoid oven cleaner, paint stripper and other strong solvents that attack the resin.
Technical figures are typical values for this type of material; colour can shift slightly between production batches, so match slabs from the same batch.
Choosing Starry Black Quartz
The look: Starry Black Quartz has a fine-grained black with subtle sparkle, close to the look of black granite. A low-maintenance black for kitchen counters where you want a granite look without sealing.
Living with the pattern: The sparkle in Starry Black Quartz shows best under spotlights or daylight; under one ceiling light it reads as a plain colour. The specks also help hide crumbs and water marks.
Where it works best: Kitchen islands, bar and coffee counters, statement vanities and feature walls.
What goes with Starry Black Quartz:
- White or cream cabinets for strong contrast
- Warm wood cabinets for a richer, darker kitchen
- Gold or brass fittings, which stand out well against black
- Good under-cabinet lighting, since dark tops make a counter feel darker
