How Does Granite Form?
Granite forms from magma β molten rock β deep beneath the earth's surface. Instead of erupting as lava, this magma cools very slowly over thousands to millions of years, insulated by surrounding rock. Slow cooling allows crystals of quartz, feldspar and mica to grow large and interlock, creating granite's characteristic speckled appearance and exceptional hardness.
Over time, mountain-building and erosion bring these granite bodies to the surface, where they can be quarried.
Where Does Granite Come From?
Granite is found on every continent. Major producers include India, Brazil, China, Norway, Finland and others. In Pakistan, granite occurs in the Nagarparkar area of Sindh and in the northern mountains.
FB Marble stocks 21 Pakistani granites β such as Tropical Brown, Impala Black, Indus Gold and Deer White β and 25 imported granites from India, Brazil, Norway, Finland and Ukraine.

Granite rates 6β7 on the Mohs hardness scale. It resists scratches, heat and weathering, which is why ancient granite monuments still stand today.

Granite remains one of the most popular countertop materials. Modern finishes β leathered, honed and polished β and exotic colours keep it fresh and fashionable. In Pakistan, its heat resistance and value make it ideal for daily cooking.
