Description

A refined, light-toned travertine in the classic Italian style — smooth, elegant and a favourite for high-end interiors.

In our stock photos Italian Travertine shows a beige-cream vein-cut stone with tan linear bands and open pores.

Italian Travertine is supplied 20mm / 30mm (custom on request) in a filled & honed finish, for floors, wall cladding and outdoor paving.

Origin & Technical Profile

Origin: Imported from Italy. Italian 'Travertino Romano' is quarried around Tivoli near Rome — the stone used for the Colosseum and St Peter's colonnade.

Practical note: Vein-cut stone is sawn parallel to the bedding layers, which gives straight stripes; lay all pieces with the stripes running the same way. Factory filling (resin or cementitious) closes the pores for an easy-clean surface; small fill spots may open over the years and can be refilled. Clean with pH-neutral stone soap; on unfilled or tumbled stone, sweep grit regularly so the open pores do not trap dirt.

Technical figures are typical ranges for this type of stone, not lab results for one block. Every natural slab differs in colour and pattern, so please view the actual slab before it is cut.

Yes, Italian Travertine works well on covered patios and walls; for wet pool decks a tumbled, brushed or unfilled finish gives better grip than filled & honed. Seal it after installation. Lighter travertine stays relatively cool underfoot in the Lahore summer, and there is no frost here to crack it.
