Cross Cut Travertine
Description
Cut across the natural grain, revealing travertine's classic cloud-like pitted pattern — a traditional favourite for flooring.
In our stock photos Cross Cut Travertine shows a cream slab cut across the bedding, giving a cloudy, flowery (fleuri) pattern instead of stripes.
Cross Cut Travertine is supplied 20mm / 30mm (custom on request) in a cross cut, honed finish, for floors, wall cladding and outdoor paving.
Origin & Technical Profile
Origin: Imported from Turkey, one of the world's largest exporters of marble and travertine. Most Turkish travertine comes from the Denizli basin in western Turkey, the same geological system that formed the Pamukkale terraces.
What the slab looks like: A cream slab cut across the bedding, giving a cloudy, flowery (fleuri) pattern instead of stripes.

Practical note: Cross-cut stone is sawn across the bedding layers, giving a cloudy pattern with no direction, so pieces can be laid in any orientation. A honed (matte) finish is less slippery than polished and hides scratches and etch marks better. Clean with pH-neutral stone soap; on unfilled or tumbled stone, sweep grit regularly so the open pores do not trap dirt.
Technical figures are typical ranges for this type of stone, not lab results for one block. Every natural slab differs in colour and pattern, so please view the actual slab before it is cut.
